Attorney Profile
Ryan J. Carballido is a litigation attorney in Quinn Johnston’s Peoria office, where his practice focuses on civil rights defense, municipal defense, and personal injury defense. Ryan brings a practical, client-centered perspective to litigation shaped by his prior work in both insurance claims and public prosecution.
Before becoming an attorney, Ryan worked for Tokio Marine, where he helped business clients navigate losses arising from computer hacking, confidential data breaches, fraud, and professional liability claims. That experience gave Ryan an early understanding of how insureds, insurers, and businesses evaluate risk, investigate claims, and work toward efficient resolution in high-pressure circumstances. Today, he draws on that background when defending insureds and public entities in litigation, with a focus on careful case evaluation, clear communication, and practical strategy.
Ryan also served as an Assistant State’s Attorney with the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office. In that role, he prosecuted cases from charging through disposition, working with law enforcement to develop evidence, negotiating resolutions, and obtaining favorable trial outcomes for the People. His experience as a prosecutor strengthened his courtroom judgment and gave him a working knowledge of the demands placed on municipalities, law enforcement, and public employees.
Ryan earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law and received his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, where he studied economics, political science, and legal studies. He is admitted to practice in Illinois.
