On April 9, 2026, the Charley Steiner School of Sports Communication at Bradley University held their annual symposium featuring national industry experts on the ever-changing world of broadcasting and sports media. Quinn Johnston partner, Mitch Gilfillan, was featured on a panel with CBS senior sportswriter, Matt Norlander, and New York Times reporter, Malcolm Moran. The panel was focused on the current and future world of sports broadcasting and highlighted issues involving Name, Image, and Likeness along with the transfer portal in college sports.
Joshua Dickhaus, associate chair of the sports communication department at Bradley had this to say, “Attorney Mitch Gilfillan was an outstanding panelist on the Name, image, and likeness and transfer portal panel at the 9th Steiner Symposium on Sports Communication. The knowledge he brought to that panel was amazing and it was truly a great learning experience for all of us who were privileged to hear him speak on the topic.”
Gilfillan, who works in all areas of insurance defense, family law, and business law, has spoken at the NCAA Final Four, NBA All Star weekend and the Fiesta Bowl this year as it relates to legal issues in college sports. For his work, he has been referenced and quoted in publications such as Sports Illustrated, ESPN, NBC News and CBS Sports.
